Match report: FC Talanta 0 – 1 Tusker
FC Talanta’s fine run in form was brought to a halt on Saturday April 30 when they lost 1-0 at home to reigning League Champions Tusker FC.
Rodgers Ouma scored the all important goal in the first half of the game when he rifled a shot past our keeper to settle scores.
The win takes Tusker to within three points of league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz.
Coming into the match, Talanta had collected four points from their last two matches, all against Police FC.
The game started in quite a slow start to the game and it was the visitors who had the first glimpse of goal when Shami Kibwana played a quick one-two change of passes with Okumu, but his low shot was deflected for a corner.
Tusker keeper Patrick Matasi who had a rather quiet first half then played a long ball to Shaphan Oyugi who found Okumu to score the only goal of the match in the 32nd minute.
Six minutes later Tusker got another chance when Shami Kibwana sent Oyugi through on goal but he spanned his chance away.
In the second half, Talanta once again started strong but poor finishing cost the boys at least a point.
